Domestic LPG Gas cylinder now Rs 200 cheaper: Relief in festive season

The cost of home LPG cylinders has been reduced by Rs 200 by the national government today. Before the Raksha Bandhan celebration, the government offered these advantages to the nation's ladies. Along with this, the government has also offered a 200 rupee discount on LPG cylinders offered through the Ujjwala program. Oil firms had previously reduced the cost of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 100.

Domestic LPG Gas cylinder now Rs 200 cheaper


Giving relief from rising inflation, the Modi government at the Center has reduced the prices of domestic LPG cylinders by Rs 200, giving relief to the public.The central government has given this special gift to all the women of the country before the festival of Raksha Bandhan. Apart from this, the government has also given an additional discount of Rs 200 to the beneficiaries coming under the Ujjwala scheme.


A rebate of Rs 200 was already being given by the government to all the beneficiaries coming under the Ujjwala scheme, which has now increased to Rs 400.


What will be the new price

The price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder in New Delhi is currently Rs 1,103, which will be reduced to Rs 903 from tomorrow i.e. Wednesday. Whereas in Mumbai, the price of LPG is currently Rs 1,102, which will come down to Rs 902 . The price will be effective from 31st August.


Relief for Ujjwala beneficiaries

Also for Ujjwala beneficiaries, the price will be Rs 703 after an additional subsidy of Rs 200 per cylinder. Announcing the government's decision, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said the move was aimed at providing relief to the families.


75 lakhs New Ujjawala Connections


Anurag Thakur said that the central government has decided to distribute 75 lakh new gas connections to poor families under the Ujjwala scheme. Beneficiaries of Ujjwala will also get the benefit of reduction in prices on gas. He will get a direct benefit of Rs.400. That means they will have to pay only Rs 703 for the gas cylinder.


Great Steps for Assembly Election


This step of the government is very important before the assembly elections to be held in 5 states this year. In Rajasthan, the Congress has implemented a scheme to provide gas to BPL families for Rs.500 from April 1 this year. In Madhya Pradesh too, the Congress has promised to give gas cylinders for Rs.500.


Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that PM Modi has given a big gift to the sisters by reducing the prices on the festival of Onam and Raksha Bandhan. 33 crore consumers will get the benefit from the decision of the central government. This decision will put a burden of 7 thousand 680 crores on the government in the financial year 2023-24.
